School Readiness Screening
During the preschool years, children develop the pre-academic, social and self-control skills that they’ll need to start kindergarten. The School-Readiness Screening is for parents who are wondering if their child is ready for the transition. Some parents have concerns based on a child’s age (birthdays later in the year) or because of a family history of learning delays. In other cases, a preschool teacher has brought up concerns about a child, like difficulties learning colors and shapes or following directions.
The School-Readiness Screening gives information on emerging academic skills and development in the domains of social, communication, and motor skills. Parents can use that information to make decisions about school placements and seeking academic support before a child falls behind.
