Dyslexia Screening

Dyslexia is the most common reading disorder. There are effective methods for teaching children with dyslexia how to read—yet many children with reading delays spend years in school before receiving appropriate instruction. The dyslexia screening is used to quickly determine if an intervention is needed to promote reading success. It includes:

  • A brief cognitive evaluation

  • Reading assessments

  • Assessment of phonological and orthographic processing

The brief nature of the screening makes it useful for understanding a child’s immediate instructional needs, but not for making a diagnosis. It is suitable for children without attentional, emotional, or other learning issues.
