DBT Skills Training

Individual or Group

12-24 Weeks

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a highly effective therapy for helping individuals (children-adult) who experience strong or lasting emotions that are difficult to manage. Different than traditional therapy, DBT Skills Training serves to teach and strengthen skills in the areas of:

  • Self-awareness (mindfulness)

  • Interpersonal effectiveness

  • Emotion regulation

  • Distress tolerance

  • Walking the middle path (adolescents & their parents only)

Many people benefit from skills training alone, however, individuals experiencing high levels of distress or problematic behaviors are referred for a comprehensive DBT intervention, with skills training in combination with individual therapy.

Clients who are currently working with an individual therapist are welcome to use Skills Training to facilitate their progress.
